How Kindescope started and a bit about us

Mary E. Maunder
Writer/Composer

Teacher Mary Maunder started writing children’s songs for her own class and for her colleagues. When the government set guidelines for young children’s learning, Mary continued writing, basing the content of the new songs on Early Learning Goals. Soon after, she teamed up with professional engineers and musicians, to record the songs between their tours and gigs. As soon as the first songbook with CD in the Kindescope series was released, the response was amazing… teachers all over the country shouted for more! Mary wrote more........a songbook and CD for each of the six areas of foundation stage learning.

Thus the Kindescope series was born.

Since then, Mary has produced more products and has been asked to write a series of radio programmes for the under fives to included her songs. She has written articles for well known education and childcare magazines like Nursery World and continues to write more inspiring songs and rhymes for KS1.

Kindescope now has ten years experience of supplying schools, pre-schools, nurseries, other educational establishments, book and music shops, and individuals with a range of songbooks covering all areas of learning. Having exhibited at the major UK educations shows, we now have a world -wide presence with our website. Children are happily singing our songs in more than twenty five countries!

We do our best to give all our customers a friendly, reliable and speedy service and continue to provide a wealth of fun-filled songs and rhymes to support young children’s learning and development. We are also bringing in new ideas, writers and products to satisfy the growing demand, always focusing on the very best quality and sound educational practice.

Kindescope Songs

Kindescope songs are original, fun and support learning. They are designed to help young children gain confidence and develop new skills through their natural response to music, song and rhyme. Each book has at least 20 songs, activity ideas, simple piano music, guitar chords and included CD of vocal and backing tracks. Easy to use by non-musical practitioners and carers.
